Offline use

Preparing the offline interface…

After opening online once, the interface, bundled locations and your saved world notes, pins and progress can open offline. Map tiles and wiki images still need internet.

Keep your worlds safe

Worlds are saved on this device. Export a backup in Data before changing browsers or devices, clearing website data, or removing the app. Installation does not synchronise progress.

Data & backups

Map checks in the selected world
Review locations outside the imagery

These source records stay hidden from the map. Compare their original positions in-game before suggesting a correction. No coordinates are moved automatically.

Import original location sources

Use a source bundle with a datasets array, or one original JSON array with the source page and category below. Imports add sources and keep raw records. Repeated copies are counted once.

Your progress

Backups include all world profiles, their bases, progress, favourites, pins, map views, filters, map-checking notes, quest journals, crafting plans and custom recipes, the colour theme and imported sources. Importing a backup replaces this device’s companion data after review.

Import a world from pasted JSON

Use this alternative if your browser cannot choose the exported world file.

Calibration and source status

Locations outside the imagery bounds are hidden from the map and normal lists. Their original records remain in the source audit and backups.

The supplied coordinate transformation is in use. Game-marker alignment is not yet verified. All out-of-bounds records are retained; imagery is not extended to them.

The supplied datasets have passed structural checks. Public release awaits in-game alignment checks and confirmation of map tile and asset reuse requirements. Offline map storage is not implemented.

Live map tracking

Local file connection · first integration, awaiting in-game alignment checks

See your player position while you play on this PC. Compass reads only the position file you choose. Positions and trails stay in this tab and are not uploaded or included in backups.

  1. Install a compatible UE4SS experimental build and the LiveMap mod, following LiveMap’s installation instructions.
  2. Start Dragonwilds and enter Ashenfall. Select the matching world profile in Compass.
  3. Choose LiveMap’s web/data/live.json file inside its mod folder. On Steam this is usually RSDragonwilds/Binaries/Win64/ue4ss/Mods/LiveMap/web/data/live.json.

Use desktop Chrome or Edge on the gaming PC. A phone or another PC cannot read this file. Dungeon maps are not supported yet. Compare your marker with a known landmark before relying on its position.

Tracking disconnected

Updates every half-second while this tab is visible. A grey marker means updates stopped. Dragging the map turns Follow off. Changing world or reloading disconnects tracking.

Quest journal

Your manual quest journal, saved per world on this device and included in backups. Game quest progress is not read automatically.

My quests

Crafting fieldbook

Saved only in this world on this device. Backups include your plan, owned materials and custom recipes.

What I want to make

Target is the number of finished items you want. Made records your progress. Materials owned are your manual counts; they are not consumed automatically. Use Save counts to apply your edits.

Materials to gather

Direct ingredients only. Planks, bars, leather and thread are counted as ingredients; their own recipes, fuel and unlocks are not added.

Record a map check

Your observation applies only to this world. It does not change source coordinates or verify the map for other players.

Add a personal pin

Choose an icon
Pin colour

Personal pins are your notes, not verified wiki locations.

Your worlds

Each world has its own personal pins, main base, favourites, progress, map checks, quest journals and crafting plans. Choose the matching profile when you play.

Edit world

Mark a personal pin as your main base to use Go to base. Everything is saved in this browser; export a backup before changing devices.

World files add a separate profile and keep your existing worlds. They include personal notes and progress; share them only if you want others to see those details.

Companion field guide

Practical guides for this companion. Game locations still need in-game checks.

Set up a world and find your base

Open Worlds and create a profile for each server or save. Select that profile in the world bar before playing. Pins, progress, favourites and map checks belong to the selected world.

Open Pins, drag a symbol onto the map or select it and tap a position. Review its name and notes, then Save pin. Open your base pin and choose Set as main base. Go to base returns to it from the world bar.

Check a landmark in-game

Open a source location and choose Record a map check. Compare the landmark with the map in your game. Record Checked in this world, Position mismatch, or Needs another check, along with the game version and what you observed. These are your observations, not a global verification.

A mismatch does not move a wiki marker. Use a personal pin to record the position you found. Data → Review locations outside the imagery lists hidden source positions for investigation.

Use a phone or second monitor

Play mode keeps a small Remaining, Saved or Pins list beside the map. Go to base stays available. Use Fullscreen on a second monitor; on phones, close the tools or details panel for more map space. Select a pin symbol and tap the map if dragging is awkward.

App explains installation on your device. Open online first to prepare the offline interface. Map tiles and wiki images need internet.

Back up or move to another device

Data → Export backup saves every world and imported source. Keep that file before clearing browser data or changing domain. On the new domain, Data → Import backup lets you review it before replacing that browser’s data.

Export current world saves one profile. Import a world adds a separate profile and keeps existing worlds. If file selection is unavailable, paste the exported world JSON in Data. Installation does not sync devices.

Keyboard shortcuts

/ Search locations · Escape Close details or tools

Tab through the rail, location list and map markers. Enter opens a location or zooms into a group. Play mode keeps a compact Remaining, Saved or Pins list beside the map. Drag a personal marker to move it; review and save its new position. Use the arrow keys to pan the map and + / − to zoom.
